Alexander von Humboldt Foundation: Hezekiah Wardwell Fellowship

Programme Description

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation awards each year up to 10 fellowships to highly gifted young musicians and musicologists from Spain to help finance their further training or advanced academic studies at an academy of music or a conservatory in Germany. This includes academic supervision by recognised music teachers at colleges of music or conservatories or by specialist scholars from higher education institutions. The supervision must, however, be bindingly agreed prior to the application. Initially, candidates can apply for a fellowship of 1 or 2 academic semesters.

Number of Scholarships

up to 10 fellowships

Students can initially apply for a grant for 1 or 2 academic semesters (grant period: October to February or July of the following year). If a Wardwell grant is awarded for 10 months, up to 5 months of this period can be used to conduct advanced academic studies in another European country (excluding Spain), provided that this is a necessary step in completing the academic studies.
